SMP 2015-2050 – Cargo Facilities and Needs Workshop - 06/29/2011

On June 29th 2011, the Miami-Dade Aviation Department held an advisory panel workshop with the Airport's cargo community. The workshop was made of two sessions: one in the morning with the cargo operators, and one in the afternoon with the cargo forwarders. The workshop sessions were intended to provide an update of the cargo industry to the cargo community, discuss the existing cargo facilities and the future cargo facilities needs at MIA. The workshop sessions were moderated by cargo expert Michael Webber. Airport cargo tenants provided critical input for the study, specifically about warehouse space, ramp space, landside parking and roadways and allied services (refrigeration, fumigation and inspection).
